    My name is Dorian Senkow and I am a Winnipeg based, newly married, Ukrainian Dancer that LOVES photography!  :)  My passion for photography started at an early age and since then has blossomed into a style that combines photojournalistic styles with some extra fun on the side!  I absolutely love capturing memories through the view finder.  Let me capture yours!

Dauphin Bound…

Sorry for the lack of updates lately….see, we have been preparing for our biggest performance of the year.  Slava! Ukrainian Contemporary Dancers is performing at Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival out in Dauphin, MB this weekend.  This is a pretty big deal and have been preparing for it since March.  For the past month we have been practicing 3 times per week (minimum) and our time to shine is finally here.  Despite the aches and pains, exhaustion, and occasional bouts of extreme frustration, our team is ready to rock that main stage and show Canada what we are made of!

This is our second year performing at CNUF.  We also danced there last year!  Check out the pictures here!!!  I cannot wait to share with all of you our adventures when we return…and you know I will!  :)

Until then, please wish us luck…tell us to “break a leg” and have a “Budmo” in our honour!  Don’t know what a “Budmo” is???  Maybe you should come out to Dauphin and check it out!!

Winnipeg Family Photographer ~ Carrie & Family

Happy Weekend Everyone!!  The day has come for me to introduce Carrie and her wonderful family!!  I have been so excited to post this session because I had soooo much fun with this group!!  I know Carrie because she went to high school with my hubby Ryan.  When Carrie asked me to do a family shoot, I was all like “Heck Yes!!”  But when she told me where she wanted to do it I got all giddy inside since I had been to this location before.  Way back last year I took pictures of Michele and her family at this beautiful farm in LaSalle…it turns out that this is Carrie’s Aunt’s place!!  I was so happy that I got to come back.  This place is a little piece of heaven and would go back again in a heartbeat!!  Thanks again Mona (and family)…you guys rock!!

Now I know that Carrie is excited to see the teaser, and I am not going to lie…I can’t wait to show it to her!!  Enjoy it babe!! :)  It was hard choosing because there were so many that I loved!!

I had so much fun with you guys!!  Thanks again!!

Winnipeg Grad Photographer ~ Sofia & Friends…

Hey Everyone!!  Grab a snack because this is going to be  my longest post yet!!  A couple of weeks ago (on my birthday I might add…) I met up with a friend of mine, Sofia and her friends to celebrate their high school grad.  I know Sofia because we dance together in Slava! and her date was a friend of mine, Zane who I danced with when I was still with Romanetz.  Sofia and her friends were so beautiful.  It was not hard to take great pictures of them.  They were all so wonderful as well and I had so much fun with them!!  So here you go gang…I hope you love your pics!!

Winnipeg Newborn Photography ~ Oliver

Happy Post Canada Day Everyone!!  The long weekend was absolutely wonderful and thanks to the docs at my clinic they decided to shut down on July 2nd….helloooooooo super long weekend!!  It was bliss!!  We celebrated Canada Day at Assiniboine park with our friends Chris & Kathie to watch Ryan dance with his group.  We then headed down to our cabin for a rainy weekend.  It was still good!!  But it also let me catch up on some sessions!!

Meet this cute little red head named Oliver.  Little Ollie is my cousin Rachelle’s little guy.  He was born April 29th and when we met up to take pictures of him he was already over 2 months old.  And he didn’t stop moving.  The whole time his legs were movin’ and shakin’.  I know why mom has to feed him all the time!  The energy he burns off is amazing!  He gave us smiles and some tears, but regardless he was super cute the whole time.

As you can see he’s got red hair just like his Mama… :)

Thanks for having me over Rachelle!!  I can’t wait until I can come back and do family photos!!

Winnipeg Couples Photography ~ Amanda & Devyn

Meet Amanda & Devyn!!  These two are among some of the sweetest people I have ever met!!  A couple of weeks ago at my dance group’s Slabava, Amanda was the lucky one who won a Portrait Package that I had donated for the silent auction.  When she had emailed me she had explained that they are getting married on July 17th and they never had the opportunity to have an engagement session done and asked if this portrait package could be thier engagement shoot.  “Uh, heck yes!!!”  I LOVE photographing people in love!!  And who better than two beautiful people getting ready to forever devote themselves to one another!!  I was so excited to meet with them and get some awesome shots.  So we decided on Kildonan Park…a beautiful park with so much to offer.  I had a blast with them!!  Meet Amanda & Devyn!!
