The Hubby and I have decided to take a little break from reality and spend the next week out at our little personal paradise.  For those of you with outstanding orders I will be working on them while I am gone and will touch base with you when I get back.  If anyone wants to inquire about availability for sessions, please drop me an email through the “Contact” page and I will get back to you as soon as I can!!

Now yes, you read that right.  I photographed a wedding.  I have been a second shooter for a few weddings for friends and although this is not something that I am actively pursuing, sometimes you just can’t say no.  Oksana is just one of those women who you love absolutely instantly!  The fun part about this is that I have known Oksana’s mother, Lesia for at least 17 years.  Back when I was a Leader at the North YMCA, then through the Ukrainian community with all of the dancing that I have been doing.  They are such a wonderful family that I just wanted to be there to capture this special day for them!!  I didn’t meet Odin until the rehearsal the night before but I could tell right away that he is quite the catch.  You can tell in his eyes that he just loves Oksana.  It is quite special.

Thank you so much guys for letting me in on your special day.  Although we had tux emergencies, rain, hair emergencies, and more rain…I had so much fun with you!!
Here is your sneak peek!!

I didn’t think much about our visit until last Tuesday, only 5 days after I saw her last, when I got a call from my mother while I was at work.  Grandma had a heart attack, we need to go to the hospital.  Of course I left in a hurry but I never think the worst of any situation.  I thought that I would see her there, recovering from the heart attack and that we would have to talk to the doctor about what we need to do to make her life healthier, better, and longer.  I got to the hospital, my husband meeting me there.  We headed off to Emergency and they lead us right to her…she had died.  My mother was sitting with her body in one of the treatment rooms and it was quiet.  All I remember is seeing her laying on the stretcher and suddenly the tears started to flow.  My mom, my husband and I stood there all connected in one big hug, comforting each other.  Now what?  This had happened so fast and was so unexpected. 

The next few days my Mom and Aunts had to prepare for the Prayers and the Funeral.  I went to work…they had it all under control.  Several days later we said Goodbye to Grandma, our Family Matriarch as we laid her beside my Grandfather and my Brother.

I am so thankful that I took those short 15 minutes to visit with her, give her a kiss and tell her that I loved her.  I never would have guessed that it was the last time that I would see her.

This is our second year performing at CNUF.  We also danced there last year!  Check out the pictures here!!!  I cannot wait to share with all of you our adventures when we return…and you know I will!  :)

Meet this cute little red head named Oliver.  Little Ollie is my cousin Rachelle’s little guy.  He was born April 29th and when we met up to take pictures of him he was already over 2 months old.  And he didn’t stop moving.  The whole time his legs were movin’ and shakin’.  I know why mom has to feed him all the time!  The energy he burns off is amazing!  He gave us smiles and some tears, but regardless he was super cute the whole time.

Do you think that I could get a picture of the 3 of them walking down the driveway??  NOPE!!  Elena, like a typical 2 year old just wanted to RUN!!  This is what about 40 of my pictures look like!! 

She did sit for a little bit and let me take a picture!

I just loved her little Easter Dress.  But when I showed her this picture she said to me, “But Auntie, you missed my face…where’s my face??”  God I love her!!
